Your First Visit

Your first consultation is designed to give you time, clarity and a practical plan. It starts with listening, moves through assessment, and includes treatment where appropriate.

01

We listen first

Your practitioner begins with active listening and an extensive medical history, so the appointment starts with context rather than assumptions.

02

We assess carefully

Your assessment may include movement review, physical examination and relevant health questions to understand what is contributing to the problem.

03

We explain the plan

Your practitioner explains what they consider to be at the core of the issue, the treatment offered and the next steps for care.

What to expect

A consultation that starts with understanding.

Your first consultation will involve a lot of active listening, integral to the taking of an extensive medical history and physical assessment.

You can expect that your practitioner will explain what they consider is at the core of your problem, what treatment they intend to offer, and outline your treatment plan. In accordance with modern best practice, your practitioner will seek your informed consent.

Unless your condition requires immediate referral to another type of healthcare provider, a standard, complete treatment is always offered on the first visit.
